To turn the submersible light on, simply twist the base of the unit clockwise. To turn it off, twist the base counter-clockwise. The battery life of these lighting units is 36 to 48 hours, and they have a 2-year shelf life with fresh batteries. These lights will sink to the bottom, but if you want them to float, you can place them on a plastic plate.
